எனைத்திட்பம் எய்தியக் கண்ணும் வினைத்திட்பம்
வேண்டாரை வேண்டாது உலகு.
(குறள் 670: வினைத்திட்பம் அதிகாரம்)
எனைத்திட்பம் – மற்ற எந்த வித வலிமை
எய்தியக் கண்ணும் – கொண்டவராக இருந்தாலும்
வினைத்திட்பம் – செய்யும் வினையில் உறுதியை
வேண்டாரை – விரும்பி கொள்ளாதவரை
வேண்டாது உலகு – இவ்வுலகும் புறம் தள்ளும்
உள்ளத்து உரமும் உறுதியும் இல்லார்க்கு மற்ற வலிமைகளாகிய கல்வி, செல்வம், சுற்றம், படை, அரண், நட்பு போன்றவை இருந்தாலும், அவரை இவ்வுலகம் கருதாது புறம் தள்ளிவிடும். மீண்டுமொருமுறை, இக்குறள் அமைச்சியல் பகுதியில் வருவதை நினவில் கொண்டு, இவ்வதிகாரத்தின் குறள்கள் பலருக்குப் பொதுவாக பொருந்தினாலும், அமைச்சு தொழில் செய்பவர்களுக்கே இன்றியமையாததாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது.
மற்ற வலிமைகள் இருந்தும் செய்யும் செயல்களை மனவுறுதியின்றி செய்வோர்க்கு, அவர்கள் மேற்கொண்ட செயல்களில் தோல்வியே கிட்டும் என்பதால், அவரை விரைவிலேயே அறிஞர்களும், ஆளுவோரும், மற்ற உலகோரும் விரும்பார் என்பதைச் சொல்லி இவ்வதிகாரத்தை நிறைவு செய்கிறார் வள்ளுவர்.
Transliteration:
enaiththiTpam eidhiya kaNNum vinaithiTpam
vENDArai vENDAdu ulagu
enaiththiTpam –Regardless how many other strengths
eidhiya kaNNum – a person (minister) has
vinaithiTpam – resolve to complete successfully in his undertakings,
vENDArai – those who don’t desire that
vENDAdu ulagu – this world will not desire and discard them.
Regardless of other strengths such as education, wealth, friends, relatives, army, and fortress, whatever strengths a minister may have, still the world will discard such ministers who do not have the resolve to execute their undertakings. Once again we have to remember that this verse and chapter come under the section on Minsiters duties.
When a person is not able to execute what he has undertaken, with the strength to go through ordeals during the process, he will only face failure. VaLLuvar completes this chapter with the thought that such a minister will be discarded by the wisemen, rulers and others in the world, all alike.

World will still discard such ministers, without resolve to execute”
