அறனறிந்து வெஃகா அறிவுடையார்ச் சேரும்
திறன்அறிந் தாங்கே திரு.
(குறள் 179: வெஃகாமை அதிகாரம்)
Transliteration:
aRanaRindhu veggA aRivuDaiyArch chErum
thiRan aRindhAngE thiru.
aRanaRindhu – Understanding the virtuous ways to live
veggA – Not coveting others possession
aRivuDaiyArch – having the sense of
chErum – will reach to reside
thiRan aRindh(u) – will find the way to shower them with her blessing
AngE – with them
Thiru – The Goddess of wealth.
Persons that have the propriety to live virtuously, not coveting others possessions, will become the choicest abode of the goddess of wealth. The ill deed of coveting is due to jealousy or avarice as both are interlinked. One feeds the other. Being devoid of either one of them will only drive them to live virtuously and hence with prosperity.
The chapter on Jealousy/Envy, had two verses that we have seen to allude to the fact that wealth will not be with people that have jealousy – (“avviththu…” – verse 167) and “azhukkARu…” – verse 168)
“Goddess of wealth will seek the virtuous,
And wise and the one that is not covetous”
தமிழிலே:
அறனறிந்து – இதுதான் அறவாழ்கை என்று அறிந்து,
வெஃகா – பிறருடைய உடமைபொருளை விழைந்து கவராமல் இருக்கும்
அறிவுடையார்ச் – அறிவினை உடையவர்களுக்கு
சேரும் – சென்று உறைவாள்
திறன் அறிந்து – அவர்களிடன் உறைவதற்கான வழியினாலே
ஆங்கே – அவர்களிடத்தில்
திரு – எல்லாச் செல்வங்களுக்கும் நிலைமகளாம் திருமகள்
அறவழி வாழ்தலை அறிந்த, பிறர் செல்வத்தைப் பேராசையினாலே கவர்ந்து கொள்ள விழையாத அறிவுள்ளோரிடத்தில் திருமகள் சென்று உறைவதற்கான வழிகளிலே அடைவாள். பிறர்பொருள் கவருதல் என்பது அழுக்காறு (பொறாமை), மற்றும் பேராசை இவற்றினாலே நிகழ்வது. பேராசையும், பொறாமையும் ஒன்றுக்கொன்று தொடர்புடைய தீக்குணங்கள். ஒன்று மற்றொன்றை வளர்க்கும்.
அழுக்காறு அதிகாரத்தின் இரு குறள்கள் வழியாக இக்குணங்கள் உடையவரிடம் திருமகள் உறையாள் என்று சொல்லியிருப்பார் வள்ளுவர். நினைவு படுத்திக்கொள்ளுவோம்.
அவ்வித்து அழுக்காறு உடையானைச் செய்யவள்
தவ்வையைக் காட்டி விடும்.’ (அழுக்காறாமை- குறள் எண்- 167)
அழுக்காறு எனஒரு பாவி திருச்செற்றுத்
தீயுழி உய்த்து விடும்.(அழுக்காறாமை- குறள் எண்- 168)
இன்றெனது குறள்:
வவ்வாமை நல்லறம் என்றறிவார்ந் தார்தம்மை
துவ்வாதார் ஆக்காள் திரு
(துவ்வாதார் – வறியவர்)
