உள்ளிய தெய்தல் எளிதுமன் மற்றுந்தான்
உள்ளிய துள்ளப் பெறின்.
(குறள் 540: பொச்சாவாமை அதிகாரம்)
Transliteration:
uLLiya deidal eLiduman maRRundAn
uLLIya duLLap peRin
uLLiyad(u) – that wished to attain
eidal – to attain
eLidu – is rather easy
man – for rulers (why only them? In fact for everyone)
maRRundAn – what self
uLLIyadu – wished to attain
uLLap peRin – if the mind is focused on that (without forgetting)
Parimelazhagar says that this verse teaches how not to be forgetful. Parimelazhagar has interpreted the word, “man” as “king”. Even if it is interpreted in general term of rulers, the question would be, why is that it is so specific only to rulers. In fact it applies to everyone.
The verse says thus: It is easy to attain what one wishes to attain, if the person stays focused and keeps his mind on the wish without forgetting about it.
“If the mind retains what is wished to be attained
it is easy for anyone to get all the wishes fulfilled”
தமிழிலே:
உள்ளியது – அடைய நினைத்ததை
எய்தல் – அடைவது
எளிது – எளியதாம்
மன் – ஆள்வோர்க்கு
மற்றுந் தான்– பின்னும் தாம்
உள்ளியது – அடைய நினைத்ததைக் குறித்தே
உள்ளப் பெறின் – நினைந்திருப்பாரானால் (மறவாது)
இக்குறள் மறவாமைக்கு உபாயம் (வழி) கூறுவதாக பரிமேலழகர் கூறுகிறார். “மன்” என்பதை “மன்னர்” என்று பொருள் செய்துள்ளார் பரிமேலழகர். ஆளுவோர் என்று எடுத்துக்கொண்டாலும், இக்குறள் ஆள்வோர்க்கு மட்டுமின்றி அனைவருக்கும் பொருந்தி வருதலைக் காணலாம்.
குறளின் கருத்து, அடைய நினத்தவற்றை அடைதல் அனைவருக்கும் எளிதே, ஒருவர் தாம் அடைய நினைந்ததைக் குறிதே மனதை ஒருமுகப்படுத்தி வைப்பாராயின், அதாவது அடைதலை மறவாது என்பது மறை பொருளாகச் சொல்லப்பட்டுள்ளது.
