நவில்தொறும் நூல்நயம் போலும் பயில்தொறும்
பண்புடை யாளர் தொடர்பு.

நவில்தொறும் – கற்கக் கற்க மேலும் மேலும்
நூல்நயம் போலும் – நற்பொருள் விளங்கி இன்பம் தரும் நூற்பொருள் சிறப்பினைப்போன்றதாம்
பயில்தொறும் – பழகப் பழக
பண்புடையாளர் – பண்புபில் சிறந்தோர்தம்
தொடர்பு – நட்பு
மீண்டுமொரு நல்ல எடுத்துக்காட்டுக் குறள், எத்தகு நட்பு ஒருவருக்கு எத்தகைய சிறப்புடைய நன்மையைப் பயக்கும் என்பதைச் சொல்லும் குறள். நல்ல நூல்களைப் படிக்கப் படிக்க, தொட்டனைத்து ஊறும் மணற்கேணிபோல இன்பம் பெருகும். அதுபோன்றதேயாம், ஏற்புடைய பண்புளோர் நட்பும், பழகக் பழக இன்பத்தையே தரும். பண்புளோர் தொடர்பால், வாழ்வு சீறுரும், செம்மைப்படும், அதன் காரணமாக இன்பம் நிலைக்கும் என்பது உண்மைதானே?
பண்புடையோர் தொடர்பைப்பற்றி நாலடியார் பாடல்வரிகள் இவ்வாறு கூறுகின்றன.
“கனைகடல் தண்சேர்ப்ப கற்றறிந்தார் கேண்மை
நுனியில் கரும்புதின் றற்றே”
“கருத்துணர்ந்து கற்றறிந்தார் கேண்மை எஞ்ஞான்றும்
குருத்திற் கரும்புதின் றற்றே”
இரண்டு பாடல்களுமே நுனிக்கரும்பின் இனிமையை பண்புடையோர் நட்போடு உவமித்துச் சொல்லுகின்றன.
பெருங்கதைப் பாடல் வரிகள், பாடலின் முற்றுக்கருத்தையும் இவ்வாறு கூறுகின்றன.
“நவில்தொறும் இனிய ஞானம்போலப்
பயில்தொறும் இனியநின் பண்புடைக் கிழமை
உள்ளுதொறுள்தொறுள்ளம் இன்புற”
Transliteration:
Navilthorum nUlnayam pOlum payilthoRum
paNpuDai yALar thoDarbu
Navilthorum – As we learn more and more
nUlnayam pOlum – like how the scholarly works give more pleasure,
payilthoRum – The more a person moves with
paNpuDaiyALar – noble
thoDarbu – and gain their friendship, (the more pleasurable is such friendship)
Again an example verse, that is used often in talk circuits, highlighting which type of friendship brings how much good to someone. As we read more, the works of great value, more pleasurable it is for us; so are the friendships with noble persons; the more we move with them, more pleasurable they are. Life becomes more streamlined and orderly with their friendship. Is it not true, with such friendship, we will have sustained pleasure?
To highlight friendship with noble, there are many literary examples in worsks such as nAlaDiyAr. Perung kadhai”. The tip part of sugarcane is sweeter. Such is the friendship with noble, says nAlaDiyAr.
“More we learn the great works of learned, more pleasurable it is for the mind;
So, is friendship with noble -the more we move with such, more refined we find;
