ஆற்றுவார் ஆற்றல் பணிதல் அதுசான்றோர்
மாற்றாரை மாற்றும் படை.
(குறள் 985: சான்றாண்மை அதிகாரம்)
ஆற்றுவார் – செயலாக்கம் கொண்டோர்க்கு
ஆற்றல் – இன்றியமையாத் திறனாவது
பணிதல் – பணிவாம்
அது சான்றோர் – அப்பணிவே சான்றோர்
மாற்றாரை – தம்முடைய பகைவரை
மாற்றும் – மாற்றுவதற்கு பயனாக்கிக்கொள்ளும்
படை – ஆயுதமுமாம்
செயலாக்கம் உடையோர்க்கு இன்றியமையாத பண்பு நலன்களில் ஒன்று பணிவாம். அதுவே தமக்கு இணையானவரோடும், தம்மைவிட உயர்ந்திருப்போரோடும் ஒத்து வேலை செய்வதற்கான வழிமுறையாம். அப்பணிவே மேன்மையான பண்பு நலம் உடையவர்கள் தம் பகைவரைக்கூட மாற்றுவதற்காக மேற்கொள்ளும் யுக்தியுமாம்.
Transliteration:
ARRuvAr ARRal paNidal adusAnROr
mARRArai mARRum paDai
ARRuvAr – those who are capable of getting any undertaking done successfully
ARRal – have this important ingredient of capability
paNidal – that is submission
adu sAnROr– that very tool is for the people of sublimity
mARRArai – used against their enemies
mARRum – to change them
paDai – the instrument or the weapon.
Those that have an important ingredient of submission are capable of getting any undertaking done successfully and expediently. It is required to get things done especially when working with people of similar or higher stature. People of submility use the same their weapon to change their enemies. More than a weapon, it is an instrument in their hands to accomplish the change in the enemies.
“Men of mighty accomplishments have submission as their tool
So are sublimate souls, use the same to change the foes’ pool”
