Transliteration:
Urannasaii uLLam tuNaiyAkach chenRAr
Varalnasaii innum uLEn
Uran nasaii – desiring success in his pursuit
uLLam tuNaiyAkach – having his zeal as companion (not desiring my company)
chenRAr – he left me
Varal nasaii – desiring his coming
innum uLEn – I keep myself alive
He has left desiring and seeking success, with zeal as his companion. Here, desiring his coming back, I still keep myself alive, says the maiden in this verse. There is subtle suggestion of complaining tone that her beloved values his zeals’ companionship more than hers; however there is tone of pride about his pursuing success, implied. She also expresses that he should come back to her not even putting his success ahead of her desire.
He has left desiring success in his pursuit, with zeal to his side
Here, I keep alive myself, desiring for his return, ignoring pride”
