உயிர்உடம்பின் நீக்கியார் என்ப செயிர்உடம்பின்
செல்லாத்தீ வாழ்க்கை யவர்.
(குறள் 330: கொல்லாமை அதிகாரம்)
Translation:
Uyirudambin nIkkiyAr enba seyiruDambin
sellAththI vAzhkai yavar
Uyir – life
udambin nIkkiyAr – remover from the body (by killing)
enba – be called so!
seyir uDambin – body that has disgusting disease
sellAth – abject poverty ridden
thI vAzhkaiyavar – persons of such despicable life
When a person is seen with disguting and untouchable disease and abject poverty, it is evident that they had done the heinous act of killing other lives in their previous birth.
The final verse of this chapter reinforces the thought of “what you sow is what you reap”. Here, the act of killing in earlier births is shown to result in untouchable, disgusting disease in the present birth that would condemn and ostracize them from the society. This is said as a caution to people that kill other lives and as an advice to others to think about the repercussions.

தமிழிலே:
உயிர் – ஒரு உயிரை
உடம்பின் நீக்கியார் – அதனுடைய உடம்பிலிருந்து போக்குகியவர் (கொலை செய்வதன்மூலம்)
என்ப – என்று சொல்லப்படுவார்
செயிர்உடம்பின் – தீண்டுவதற்கு அருவறுப்பைத் தரக்கூடிய நோயை உடைய உடம்பினர்
செல்லாத் – மற்றும் கொடும் வறுமையிலே உழன்று
தீ வாழ்க்கையவர் – தீய வாழ்கையை வாழ்கின்றவர்கள்
ஒருவர் தீண்டுவதற்கு அருவறுப்பைத்தரக்கூடிய நோயிலும், கொடும்வறுமையிலும் இருந்தால், அவர்கள், அவர்கள் முற்பிறப்பில் பிறவுயிர்களைப் போக்கிச்செய்த இழிவான கொலைத்தொழிலில் ஈடுபட்டிருந்தார் என்று சொல்லிவிடலாம்.
இவ்வதிகாரத்தின் ஈற்றுக்குறளால், முற்பிறப்பில் செய்த கொலைத்தொழில், இப்பிறப்பில் நோயாகவும், வறுமையாகவும் வந்துற்றதைச் சுட்டி, கொல்லாமையாகிய வினை ஊழ் வினையாக உறுத்து வந்து ஊட்டுதலைச் சொல்லி, கொலைசெய்வோருக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாகவும், மற்றோருக்கு அறிவுறுத்தலாகவும் கூறுகிறார்.
