113: (Speaking about Loves’s excellence – காதற்சிறப்புரைத்தல்)
[In this chapter both man and his maiden, bonded by immeasurable love speak about the excellence of love, they profess to each other, more explicitly about the pertinent gestures, symbolic attributes of physical union – both metaphorically as well as directly! ]

பாலொடு தேன்கலந் தற்றே பணிமொழி
வாலெயிறு ஊறிய நீர்.
(குறள் 1131: காதற்சிறப்புரைத்தல் அதிகாரம்)
பாலொடு – சுவையான பாலோடு
தேன் – தேனையும்
கலந்தற்றே – கலந்ததைப் போன்றாம்
பணிமொழி – மென்மொழிப் பெண்ணாள்
வால் எயிறு – ஒளிரும் பற்களிடையே
ஊறிய நீர் – ஊறும் உமிழ் நீர்
காதலன் காதலியொடு முயங்கி அவளின் அதரங்களைச் சுவைத்துப் பின்பு அந்த முயக்க மயக்கதிலேயே கூறுகிறான்: அவளுடைய ஒளிரும் வெண்பற்களின் ஊடே ஊறுகின்ற உமிழ் நீரானது, பாலோடு தேனைக் கலந்தாற்போலச் சுவையை ஒத்திருக்கிறது! இவ்வாறு சொல்வது காதல் மிகுந்த புணர்ச்சியிலே தலைவன் காணும் உண்மையாகும்.
சீவகசிந்தாமணிப் பாடலொன்று, இக்கருத்தையொட்டி இவ்வாறு கூறுகிறது.
“பானிலத் துறையும் தீந்தேன் அனையவாய் அமிர்தம் ஊற
மானலங் கொண்ட நோக்கி மகன்மன மகிழச் சொன்னாள்”
Transliteration:
pAloDu tEnkalan daRRe paNimozhi
vAleyiru URiya nIr
pAloDu – With milk
tEn – honey
kalandaRRe – like mixing
paNimozhi – soft-spoken maidens’
vAl eyiru – (through) bright teeth
URiya nIr – the dew (in crass terms spittle)
The lover speaks after his union with maiden and tasting her lips, perhaps still in amorous stupor: The dew drops dripping through her bright teeth (saliva) tastes like milk mixed with sweet honey. For every person bonded in love, this is the personal truth they find during their and after physical union.
