தூஉய்மை என்பது அவாவின்மை மற்றது
வாஅய்மை வேண்ட வரும்.
(குறள் 364: அவாவறுத்தல் அதிகாரம்)
Transliteration:
thUuymai enbadhu avAvinmai maRRadhu
vAaymai vENDa varum
thUuymai enbadhu – that which shows a purity in a person
avAvinmai – is the desireless state of mind;
maRRadhu – other than that
vAaymai – the truthfulness that ascetics seek
vENDa varum – it will come to a only when desire that higher truth
The purity in a person comes with the desireless state of mind. The desireless stated of mind comes only when the person desires to seek and learn the higher truth. The people that are desire free will have no compulsions to say lies and hence the desireless state of mind is said to the foremost to practice. When practiced it makes a person pure; hence both purity while living and the attaining higher truth in order not to have any more birth are related and tied to each other.

தமிழிலே:
தூஉய்மை என்பது – ஒருவரைத் தூயவராக காட்டுவது
அவாவின்மை – அவரது மனத்துக்கண் ஆசையாம் மாசின்மையே
மற்றது
– தவிரவும் அது
வாஅய்மை – உண்மைபொருளாம் மெய்ப்பொருளை
வேண்ட வரும் – மட்டுமே விரும்புதலால் ஒருவருக்குக் கிடைக்கக்கூடியது
ஒருவரின் தூயத்தன்மை என்பது, அவரது மனத்துக்கண் ஆசையெனும் மாசு இல்லாமையே. அதுவும்கூட, (ஆசையற்ற நிலை) மெய்ப்பொருளைத் வேண்டிப் பெறுவோருக்கே கிடைக்கப்பெறும். ஆசைகளற்ற ஒருவருக்கு பொய்களைச் சொல்லவேண்டிய கட்டாயங்கள் இல்லை. இதனாலேயே ஆசையற்ற மனத்தராகும் பயிற்சி ஒருவருக்கு இன்றியமையாததாகிறது. அப்பயிற்சி ஒருவரை தூயவராக ஆக்குகிறது. வாழும்போது தூய்மையும், உயர் மெய்ப்பொருளைத் தேடி அடைவதும், மீண்டும் பிறவாது வீட்டுப் பேற்றினை அடைவதற்கான வழிகள்.

தனத்திலது வாய்க்கப் பெறும்
